Why would anyone send prospects to their blog homepage ?
Why ?
Blogs don’t sell. Anything that doesn’t have a specific action to it, is not selling.
If you’re using a blog to build a brand, why not do it after the sale ? or after the opt-in ?
I would agree with WadeWinger on this : your campaigns should not lead to your blog.
Even if you still have nothing to sell, I would rather make them optin first then redirect them to the blog. That would filter out the people who are not interested anyway. So now you get “less traffic” to the blog, but it’s qualified AND you have their contact info. Which is like money in the bank for the day you launch something.
Problogger has an explanation of why they use a landing page - Seth Godin has an explanation of HOW to build a good one.
So go start that list building now !
