I’ve been reading a post from John Reese about how “anonymous marketing” is dead.
I don’t know if it’s dead, but I definitely know that marketing under a full name (even if it’s a pen name) helps a lot in a world where networking is that important. And, as old-school as local and national newspapers may sound to us e-ntrepreneurs, these guys won’t build you a reputation if you market yourself as “BigPeter”.
They want your real name. Which can piss you off in some cases - I just got mine divulged in a French national magazine yesterday in a niche that I had been keeping separate to my private life… But still, my customers are going to feel like they know me better now.
Are you making sure you sound like a real person when you sign your posts ?

PS - that’s why I’m now changing my login name on WF.
